About Duck Key, Florida

Escape to America's Caribbean

Surrounded by an ever-changing palette of blue and green waters, and blessed with year-round sunshine and sub-tropical temperatures, Duck Key resembles a remote Caribbean island more than it does a U.S. vacation destination—let alone one you can drive to!

Located midway down the Florida Keys at Mile Marker (MM) 61, Duck Key is a collection of five islets connected by Venetian-style bridges, and separated by meandering canals that offer direct boat access to the Atlantic Ocean (to the south), and the Gulf of Mexico (to the north).

For nearly a century, Duck Key has attracted everyone from US Presidents, to star athletes, to families seeking an unforgettable Florida Keys Vacation. Guests are not only drawn by Duck Key's wonderful weather, fresh seafood, and exciting watersports, but also by the laid-back "Keys-y" attitude only found in the islands.

THE MIDDLE OF EVERYTHING

For visitors wishing to explore the different islands of the Florida Keys, Duck Key is the perfect location to set up base camp. Duck Key is just a short drive from Key Largo, Islamorada, Marathon and Key West.  Feed the Tarpon at Robbie's (MM 77.5). Take a stroll to Historic Pigeon Key along the old Seven-Mile Bridge (MM 45). And cruise Duval Street to experience the wonderful shopping and eclectic nightlife of Key West (MM 0).

Approximate drive times from Duck Key:

Key Largo: 45 minutes
Islamorada: 20 minutes
Marathon: 10 minutes
Key West: 1 hour, 10 minutes

DUCK KEY WEATHER

There's never a bad time to visit Duck Key.
Rarely does it get too cold for shorts and flip flops, and it's actually pleasantly cooler here in the summer than in most parts of the country.
In fact, the all-time high in Key West is only 97°!

The cool ocean breezes keep things comfortable even in the hottest months, and the warm tropical waters allow for swimming, diving, and fishing throughout the year.
